
OUTSIDE hitter Sherrie Rose Acosta led University of Perpetual Help System Dalta to its fourth consecutive victory in the NCAA Season 101 girls volleyball tournament on Thursday at the Arellano University Gym in Pasay City.
Acosta scored a game high nine points, all on attacks, as the Junior Lady Altas outplayed the Junior Lady Bombers of Jose Rizal University, 25-18, 25-6.
Acosta also has two digs and a reception.
Ellizha Sildo added seven points on five attacks, a block and an ace while Ramiel Panganiban chipped in six points on five attacks and an ace for Perpetual Help which leads the league with an unblemished 4-0 record.
Setter Jaja Monte has 13 excellent sets in 43 attempts and libero Janine Espiritu has 10 digs and four excellent receptions for the Las Piñas-based team.
Khelly Zoleta led JRU with five points as the Kalentong-based team dropped to 0-4 in the team standings.
Meanwhile, the defending boys volleyball champion Junior Altas Spikers bounced back from a loss against Mapus with a 25-20, 25-11, 25-18 victory over Lyceum of the Philippines University for their fourth win in five games.
Team captain Gabriel Macatuno and Daryl Torio combined for 28 points for Perpetual Help.
Symon Suyat recorded nine excellent sets and libero JM Regorosa added six digs and 15 receptions.
In the other game, Letran defeated San Beda University, 25-19, 25-14, 25-15.
