TAMBUNAN: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) here received 500 new members who were previously with several local opposition parties, including Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) and Parti Warisan.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, Patricia Yusuf and Muhadi Amin said their decision was based on confidence in PGRS Tambunan Division Chief Dato’ Victor P. Paut’s leadership.
They said Victor, who is also Sawit Kinabalu and Borneo Samudera Deputy Chairman, had gained the confidence of grassroots communities in the district.
Lintuhun PGRS coordinator Romanus Joannes, meanwhile, advised residents not to be easily influenced by what he described as unsubstantiated claims from certain quarters.
Victor expressed appreciation for the confidence shown by the new members following their decision to join the party.
Representatives from Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) were also present at the programme.
