The Philippine para chess team got off to a strong start, winning four gold medals at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand on Friday.
Sander Severino topped the PI individual men’s event and won another gold with Jasper Rom and Henry Roger Lopez in the team PI men category.
Darry Bernardo likewise won two golds, ruling the individual B2 men's division and the team event with Arman Subaste and Menandro Redor.
The Filipino woodpushers continue to vie for medals on the penultimate day of competition on Saturday.
