MANILA, Philippines—A PAL Express flight bound for Manila made a safe return to Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPIA) on Saturday, February 14, 2026, due to a technical issue with the landing gear.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Flight 2P2788 made a turnaround shortly after taking off from runway 09/27.
Upon landing safely at 7:12 p.m., PPIA maintenance personnel immediately began troubleshooting.
After several tests, CAAP confirmed normal system operations and cleared the aircraft for departure at 12:19 a.m. The flight arrived safely in Manila at 1:15 a.m.
CAAP said that the airline provided meals to passengers during the delay. While several passengers were accommodated on other flights, 61 others and an infant continued their journey on the same aircraft.
On September 12, 2025, PAL Express and other commercial flights at Puerto Princesa International Airport were significantly disrupted due to a runway closure caused by a disabled military aircraft.
