KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today shared that his eldest brother, Idrus Ibrahim, has died.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said he received the news while on the way home from his three-day working visit to China.
“It is difficult for me to express this sense of loss when someone who shared so many memories throughout life’s journey with me is now gone, and only God knows how heavy my heart is in accepting this reality.
“It is regrettable I was by your side in your final moments, but I accept it even though my heart is still trying to come to terms with a separation we were never prepared to face,” he said.
Anwar prayed that the soul of the deceased be forgiven for all his shortcomings, be bestowed with mercy, and be placed among God’s faithful and righteous servants.
He also requested prayers and Al-Fatihah for the late Idrus.
“Thank you for all the memories and kindness you have left behind, and it will all remain etched in our memories and hearts,” he added.
