MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) is proposing a special draft to strengthen the Alas Pilipinas women's volleyball national team.
This move aims to give the national team priority in selecting top prospects from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) draft pool, allowing them to build a strong squad for international competitions.
In PNVF’s new era with president Tony Boy Liao, who took over former president Ramon “Tats” Suzara’s position, players selected by the PNVF in the draft would automatically join the Alas Pilipinas women’s pool.
Players selected for the Alas Pilipinas national team will commit for two years, with PNVF covering their salaries.
To play for a PVL club after, they'll need to enter the draft – no free agency option.
The PNVF and PVL are still finalizing the details of the special draft.
