Kampar District Police Chief Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud said the 51-year-old suspect was detained on August 5 after police received a report from the victims' school involving the teenagers, aged 14 and 18.

SHAH ALAM - A man has been arrested yesterday in Kampar to assist with investigations into allegations of physical abuse and sexual harassment against his two sons.

Kampar District Police Chief Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud said the 51-year-old suspect was detained on August 5 after police received a report from the victims' school involving the teenagers, aged 14 and 18.

According to police, one of the victims disclosed the alleged incidents to a school counselling teacher, stating the abuse took place at their home.

"Further interviews subsequently revealed that the victim's older brother, who has learning difficulties, is believed to have been subjected to similar treatment. Both of them have been referred to hospital for medical examinations," Mohamad Nazri said in a statement on August 7.

He added that police seized an electronic device belonging to the suspect for forensic analysis. Investigations revealed that the two brothers lived with their father following their mother's death eight years ago.

"In this case, the affected victims have received appropriate protection and assistance in cooperation with the Social Welfare Department (JKM)," he said.

Mohamad Nazri stated that a remand application was submitted for the suspect to enable investigations under Section 377C of the Penal Code and Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

He advised the public against making speculation or spreading information that could compromise the victims' identities or disrupt ongoing investigations.
