Penang police detain another man in his 20s to assist in an investigation into alleged threats and mischief against independent preacher Zamri Vinoth.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police have arrested a second man to assist in investigations into alleged threats against independent preacher Zamri Vinoth.

Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the man in his 20s was detained here last night.

The suspect has been remanded for one day to assist in the investigation under Sections 506 and 427 of the Penal Code.

Azizee added that police are actively tracking down other individuals involved in the incident.

This follows the first arrest of a man in his 20s, a factory worker, who was detained after Zamri lodged a police report at the Seberang Perai Tengah District Police headquarters.

The first suspect was initially remanded for four days but was released last night after the court revised his remand period.

The case stems from a 19-second video Zamri uploaded to Facebook showing his vehicle being approached by a motorcycle carrying two men.

The video shows several other men approaching before the vehicle is seen colliding with the motorcycle.
