Ten people were injured after a roller coaster accident at a theme park in Subang Jaya on Saturday night.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the incident happened at around 9pm and involved 22 riders, including Malaysians and foreign tourists aged between 11 and 44.
All victims suffered minor injuries
Wan Azlan said 10 of the riders suffered minor injuries and were taken to medical facilities around Subang Jaya for treatment.
“No fatalities were reported,” he said in a statement.
Police received a report regarding the incident at around 11.45am the following day.
Videos of incident circulate online
Two videos related to the incident have since circulated on social media.
One video, believed to have been recorded shortly after the accident, showed people carrying an injured person on a stretcher near a section of the roller coaster track surrounded by trees.
Another video, recorded during the day, showed a crowd gathered near the amusement ride area, with several police officers and theme park staff seen at the scene.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and have urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.
