KUALA LUMPUR – Police have recorded statements from 15 individuals, including Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers, to assist in an investigation into the alleged failure to transfer RM230.9 million in government revenue collected by MY EG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Berhad (MYEG Group).
Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said investigations were ongoing.
“So far, statements have been recorded from 15 individuals.
“Of these, 12 are JPJ officers and the other three are bank officers,” he said on Monday.
On Oct 13, Rusdi was reported as saying that police had received a report on Oct 7 concerning the financial transactions.
Police have also received relevant documents, which are now being examined.
An investigation paper has been opened under Section 409 of the Penal Code.
Previously, Sinar reported that the Transport Ministry (MOT), through JPJ, had suspended services provided by MYEG and Zetrix AI Berhad as JPJ revenue collection agents, effective Oct 5.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke was reported as saying that the decision followed the companies’ failure to transfer government revenue within the stipulated period.
MYEG has been appointed as a JPJ collection agent since 2000 for Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) renewals, motor vehicle ownership transfers, Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM) services and electronic summons payments.
