LABUAN: Many Malaysians who have migrated here to earn a living have made and still make good contributions to the development of Labuan in the political, economic, cultural, educational and social aspects.
Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce (LCCC) General Secretary Calvin Hii Lu Hin said many leaders in voluntary associations on the island are indeed non-Labuan people. He said this is the norm in Chinese community organisations, for example, LCCC President Datuk Wong Kii Yii who moved from Sibu, Sarawak to work in Labuan and started his own business some 50 years ago.
