Kota Kinabalu: Tourism players in the State hope the State Government will postpone the implementation of entrance fee hike for all Sabah Parks areas, effective January 1.

They said the hefty increase in fees announced by State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin would put a damper on the tourism industry, which is still in the recovery process.

Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Sabah and Labuan Chapter Chairman Lawrence Chin said the hike, ranging from 100 to 400 per cent, was extremely high.
