
A power failure has caused major delays on the Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT line, with Rapid Rail deploying shuttle trains and free buses for affected commuters
KUALA LUMPUR: Train services on the Ampang and Sri Petaling LRT route are facing significant delays due to a power outage.
The disruption is affecting the section between Awan Besar Station and Sri Petaling Station.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd stated that passengers should expect longer waiting times at platforms, particularly between Bandar Tasik Selatan and Awan Besar stations.
The operator has activated alternative train services and free shuttle buses to help commuters continue their journeys.
“Alternative train services and free shuttle buses are provided to connect the affected stations,” the company said.
For the alternative train service, trains from Putra Heights will turn back at Kinrara BK5 Station with an expected frequency of seven minutes.
Trains from Sentul Timur will turn back at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station with a frequency of 10 minutes.
Shuttle trains are also running between Bandar Tasik Selatan Station and Awan Besar Station.
Additional shuttle trains operate between Kinrara BK5 Station and Awan Besar Station with a 15-minute frequency.
Free shuttle bus services are provided between Bandar Tasik Selatan, Sungai Besi, Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling stations.
Bus frequencies are between 15 to 20 minutes, depending on current traffic conditions.
Rapid Rail confirmed its engineering team is on-site carrying out repair work.
The team is working to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
Auxiliary police officers and station staff have been deployed to ensure passenger safety and smooth movement.
Passengers are advised to seek alternative transportation where possible.
