MANILA, Philippines — Members of the LGBTQ+ organization Stonewall Philippines staged their annual Pride protest at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on Friday morning, even as the Manila Police District (MPD) has yet to approve their rally permit.
In a statement, the group called on the MPD and the Bureau of Permits to “immediately heed our call to approve the venue request of Stonewall Philippines.”
The Manila Times sought comment from the MPD but has yet to receive a response as of posting time.
