A MAN who is the husband of a primary school principal in Gua Musang was detained to assist in the investigation into a case of peeping at female students in the school's toilet recently.
Gua Musang District Police Chief, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, said the elderly man was remanded for seven days from yesterday until Saturday to assist in the investigation under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
Meanwhile, a source who declined to be identified told Kosmo! that the 60-year-old man was often seen acting suspiciously near the student toilet before his actions were noticed by several female students.
He said the situation had created a sense of insecurity among students and parents who were concerned about the safety of their children in the school area.
“The first incident occurred at approximately 2.15 pm on April 7 in the school canteen. Four female students reported hearing a woman screaming from inside the girls’ toilet.
“The students also claimed to have seen two second-year female students in the toilet before seeing a man coming out of the toilet,” said the source.
The source claimed that the same man was often seen in the school’s surau area in the evening in early May during the Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) class session.
The source said that the man was allegedly peeping at a female student who was taking air sembahyang.
“Following the incident, a police report was made for further investigations.” – May 18, 2026
