PAKATAN Harapan (PH) is on course to retain Perling, according to unofficial results, in a contest that drew attention following Barisan Nasional’s (BN) decision to allocate the seat to MIC instead of its traditional holder, MCA.
As of 7.23 pm, unofficial results showed PH candidate Alan Tee Boon Tsong leading with 7,085 votes, ahead of BN’s Pannir Selvam Paliksina, who garnered 5,731 votes. Bersama candidate Boo Wei Han trailed with 694 votes.
Perling became one of the more closely watched seats after BN handed the constituency to MIC under its internal seat allocation, ending MCA’s long-held claim to contest the urban seat.
If the unofficial results hold, PH will retain Perling despite BN fielding a fresh face from MIC following the coalition’s internal seat redistribution. - July 11, 2026
