Some of the UFC’s top names have been asked to make their predictions for the White House card.
While there’s plenty of interest in tonight’s co-main event, most fans are backing Alex Pereira to come out on top in his first fight at heavyweight.
Exactly how Pereira will handle the extra weight and new division is something we’ll only find out once the fight gets underway.
This has left a split among those who sent in their picks ahead of time.
Gable Steveson backs Ciryl Gane to get the better of Alex Pereira, going against Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg
Alex Pereira left the light heavyweight division and moved up to heavyweight, and in response, Jiri Prochazka has said he’s still hoping for a third fight with him.
The pair fought for the vacant belt in April. Now, both Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg are backing ‘Poatan’ to pick up another win today.
Prochazka gave his thoughts on how the fight might play out on X, saying: “Hey, Pereira can do that I believe, but let’s see how he will handle the movement in heavyweight.”
Ulberg didn’t go into detail with his prediction and instead simply sent over an emoji representing the Brazilian. Heavyweight prospect Gable Steveson also expects a different outcome.
“Both are great! But, I’m going with Gane,” commented Olympic gold medalist Steveson.
Pereira also received support from fighters such as Michael Morales and Dricus du Plessis who also backed him to become a champion in three weight divisions within the UFC.
Social media picks Topuria vs Gaethje to be closer than expected
Fan predictions for the matchup between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje were tighter than many expected, with Topuria ahead by just 260 votes at the time of counting.
The votes from fans and several notable names in the UFC community were nearly evenly split.
Mackenzie Dern, Kayla Harrison, and Chris Pratt are all hoping to see Gaethje pull off an upset. On the other side, Alexander Volkanovski, Petr Yan, and VicBlends are backing Topuria to stay unbeaten.
