A well-known human rights lawyer in Iran was released on bail on Wednesday after more than a month in detention.
Nasrin Sotoudeh was released from prison, her daughter Mehraveh Khandan reported on Instagram. "Mum was provisionally released on bail a few hours ago," she wrote.
Sotoudeh, who is 62, is regarded as one of the most influential lawyers in Iran. In 2020, she was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize.
Sotoudeh has been imprisoned several times and has spent many years behind bars. She was arrested in early April following the US-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28 and the start of the war.
