MANILA, Philippines — The House prosecution team on Tuesday told the Senate impeachment court it intended to call Vice President Sara Duterte as a hostile witness for the impeachment article related to her kill remark against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
"One of the key witnesses, hostile,...would be the Vice President," Lorna Kapihan, lawyer for the prosecutors, said.
Kapunan said that "we are already respectfully informing this Honorable Court that we will manifest that we will have a written request for her presence...".
Earlier, Duterte denied making an assassination threat and the defense said the concerned statement was part of her freedom of speech.
