KOTA KINABALU: The Coroner’s Court on Wednesday heard that the public phones at a school hostel were shut off for two days and two nights after the incident involving Zara Qairina Mahathir on July 16.

Hostel security guard Linah Mansoding @ Jaliha, 65, who testified as the sixth deponent, said the six phones were switched off following instructions from the chief warden.

She told the court that the decision was carried out shortly after Zara was found unconscious in the hostel.
