KOTA KINABALU: A woman has issued a public apology to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek (pic) for falsely claiming she was related to the principal of the late Zara Qairina Mahathir’s school.

The apology was made in a Facebook post on Wednesday, in which she admitted that her comments were baseless and hurtful.

She explained that her remarks stemmed from information she picked up from a Sabahan influencer’s live broadcast and screen recordings shared on TikTok.

The woman acknowledged her mistake, stressing that she had acted without verifying the claims before posting them online.

She admitted her words amounted to slander, apologised unreservedly, and promised never to repeat such behaviour.

In a separate Facebook post, she revealed that she lodged a police report after family photos of her, her husband, and her children were circulated online.

She urged the public to stop spreading images of her family and contacting her husband, saying he had no involvement in her comments.
