
German 2014 World Cup hero Mario Götze has praised his Eintracht Frankfurt team-mate Nathaniel Brown for playing a strong tournament so far.
Götze said during a visit to the German House of Soccer in New York that youngster Brown "has done quite a good job", naming him "a good player" and "a good lad."
Brown, 23, was a starter in the first World Cup games against Curacao and Ivory Coast which Germany won to assure themselves of first place in their group before the final game against Ecuador.
Brown will miss that match due to adductor problems but is expected to be back for the following game in the round of 32 on Monday against a yet to be determined opponent.
Götze, 34, was welcomed enthusiastically welcomed by the fans at his appearance in New York and patiently signed autographs and posed for selfies after a short appearance on stage.
Götze came on as a substitute and scored Germany's 1-0 in the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina in Rio de Janeiro.
