Amid ongoing speculation and political maneuvering, PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli has made it clear that he has no interest in switching allegiances, even as offers from other parties—most notably PAS—continue to come his way. Recent developments suggest that Rafizi has been courted by several political groups, all attempting to lure him away from the party he has stood by for years.

The seasoned politician, known for his vocal stance on governance and transparency during the Pakatan Rakyat era, shared that these invitations are nothing new. Given his enduring popularity among a wide base of supporters—including those aligned with PAS and UMNO—it’s unsurprising that his events continue to draw attention from across the political spectrum.

Supporters from rival parties, it seems, have made emotional appeals for him to consider a change in direction, even suggesting that his political stature would be elevated should he align himself with PAS. Despite such promises of advancement, Rafizi reiterated that his commitment to PKR remains unshaken. He emphasized that his loyalty is not tied to positions of power, but to the core principles and struggles of his party.

Addressing concerns about external influence in the ongoing PKR elections, Rafizi denied any substantial interference. The only notable incident, he said, was a letter sent by a PAS leader to Nurul Izzah Anwar, which he brushed aside as inconsequential in the larger context of party democracy.

The intensity surrounding the PKR leadership contest has reached new heights, even prompting former minister Zaid Ibrahim to weigh in. Zaid reportedly reached out to Rafizi, inviting him for a discussion over coffee, and urging him to consider a move to Perikatan Nasional. According to Zaid, Rafizi is being sidelined not for incompetence but due to internal power struggles allegedly led by a dominant political family.

Zaid's tone shifted sharply afterward, accusing Rafizi of being a "yes-man" during his time in Cabinet for not challenging the Prime Minister’s policies. This criticism directly contradicted Rafizi's own assertion on his podcast that PKR should avoid becoming a party of blind followers and sycophants.

Despite these claims, Rafizi remains firm in his decision to continue serving as PKR’s deputy president, determined to uphold his vision for a party grounded in principle rather than political convenience.
