RANAU: Ranau police have identified and taken action against a 58-year-old local man following a viral video showing reckless driving on the Kundasang–Mesilou Road.
Police said they detected the 10-second clip on June 5 and launched an immediate investigation.
The driver was quickly located, and authorities confirmed his dangerous overtaking manoeuvre violated Rule 6(1) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
Ranau Police Chief Supt Mursalin Mahmud stressed that such behaviour endangers lives and will not be tolerated.
He urged motorists to follow traffic laws and drive responsibly, warning that strict enforcement will continue against offenders.
