Manchester United prospective investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to instruct the club to target British signings.

The Red Devils have been criticized for having an extremely poor transfer policy since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Despite spending billions of pounds in the market, United have only won the Europa League and a few domestic cups since Ferguson quit in 2013.

With the INEOS chief closing in on a 25 percent stake in United, he is making moves to steer the sporting project in a new direction.

One of his directives, per The Mail, is that United should try to sign the best young British players before other Premier League teams.

Historically, United have shown a commitment to local and domestic talent, but that has waned in the past 10 to 15 years.
