Manchester United's new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe is facing a little delay in his takeover of the team's sporting operations.

The INEOS chief will be forced to wait until mid-January until the deal is complete.

Ratcliffe is buying 25 percent of the Glazer family's controlling shares in the Old Trafford club.

The Telegraph states there will be no big influx of cash from Ratcliffe right away.

He will be investing most of the money in buying shares, either from the Glazers or regular shareholders.

Ratcliffe will have to wait until January to begin his work and appoint his people in various positions.

He will then invest roughly 250 million into the club's infrastructure, including the stadium.
