Manchester United's decision to sign Casemiro was questioned by incoming investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The INEOS chief was not impressed by the fact that United spent 60 million for Casemiro last summer.
Despite being a multi-Champions League winner, handing him a four-year deal at the age of 30 was questioned.
Per The Athletic, both Ratcliffe and many United employees wanted to sign Declan Rice instead.
They felt that while Rice would command a higher fee, he would have lower wages, and is much younger.
Casemiro may have cost roughly half of what Rice would have commanded, but the Brazilian will need replacing next summer already.
