Real Betis sporting director Ramon Planes is a step away from moving to the Saudi Pro League.
Planes is set to take charge of Al-Ittihad.
After failing to convince Paolo Maldini, Planes is set to be appointed Al-Ittihad sporting director.
Planes will take up a contract worth 2m-a-year net.
He will leave Betis after just eight months in charge, having made the move from Getafe.
