Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admits Karim Benzema has struggled this season.
Benzema is set to miss their clash with Espanyol.
Ancelotti said, "It is inevitable that it affects us. Karim is very important to us, he showed it last season. He has not yet reached the level of last year and this has affected us, but we think he will be important until the end of the season. We are not talking of a player who needs a lot of time to recover his best version."
Ancelotti was also asked about PSG striker Kylian Mbappe.
He added, "It is a question that you can ask me today, in three days, in a week, in a month, in two... and it is a question that I will not answer."
