
MANILA, Philippines — Rain or Shine started like a house on fire and managed to keep Barangay Ginebra at bay in the second half to hack out a 97-85 win, sending the series back to square one in their PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup semifinals on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Elasto Painters led by 22 points at the half, thanks to their nine three-pointers, while forcing the Gin Kings to 10 turnovers in the first half which they translated to 12 points.
And while import Jaylen Johnson picked up his fifth personal foul with still seven minutes in the third canto, ROS showed the same discipline and fervor in protecting its lead en route to the 12-point win.
The series is evened at 2-2, with Game 5 set this Friday again at the Big Dome.
Johnson still led Rain or Shine with 13 points and 12 rebounds despite logging just a little over 26 minutes due to foul trouble.
Gian Mamuyac had 12, while three more ROS players scored 11 points each.
