The Machang Division of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has called on the party’s top leadership to take decisive action against Machang Member of Parliament Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, arguing that his continued presence in the party undermines discipline and unity. The demand was made on February 1, 2026, amid growing internal tensions within Bersatu.
Machang division chief Kamaruddin Ab Kadir said the suspension imposed on Wan Ahmad Fayhsal was insufficient given the seriousness of the alleged misconduct. He maintained that stronger measures, including expulsion from the party, were necessary to protect Bersatu’s credibility and internal order. According to him, repeated actions attributed to the MP had violated party discipline, challenged leadership decisions, and created divisions at the divisional level.
Kamaruddin claimed that Wan Ahmad Fayhsal’s conduct had gone beyond internal dissent and entered the realm of damaging the party’s democratic processes. He pointed to allegations that a complaint concerning the Machang Division’s internal election and conference had been submitted using a statutory declaration that was not genuine. Such actions, he said, had compromised the integrity of party mechanisms and raised serious questions about ethical conduct.
He urged the Bersatu Disciplinary Board to accelerate its investigations into all complaints that had been lodged, including allegations involving forged documents. Kamaruddin stressed that prolonged delays would only deepen uncertainty and risk undermining the legitimacy of the party’s leadership. He added that issues touching on integrity and dignity should be resolved swiftly and transparently.
Beyond party membership, Kamaruddin also called for Wan Ahmad Fayhsal to be removed from the list of Perikatan Nasional Members of Parliament. He argued that the MP should no longer represent the coalition and should instead sit as an Independent lawmaker. In his view, individuals accused of openly attacking party leadership and weakening internal structures should not continue to benefit from the PN banner and branding.
The Machang division chief further stated that the Bersatu Appeal Board should not entertain appeals from Wan Ahmad Fayhsal or Wan Saiful Wan Jan. He claimed that both figures had continued to criticise the party leadership without demonstrating accountability or remorse, and that allowing appeals would erode the authority of the party’s disciplinary system.
Kamaruddin emphasised that Bersatu was founded on principles of discipline, integrity, and loyalty, and should not become a platform for personal manoeuvring or internal destabilisation. He warned that failure to act firmly would leave the party vulnerable to individuals who place personal interests above collective responsibility.
He concluded by reaffirming the Machang Division’s full support for strong disciplinary measures, stating that decisive action was essential to restore Bersatu’s dignity and safeguard its future stability.
