Eintracht Frankfurt's head of sport Markus Krösche is a possible target for AC Milan's sporting director role after Austria coach Ralf Rangnick turned the Italians down, media reports said on Saturday.
Germany's Kicker magazine said the 45-year-old Krösche did not want to comment on the rumours.
The 67-year-old Rangnick said no to Milan despite his Austria deal expiring after the World Cup, Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
Milan missed out on a Champions League place in the season just finished and fired coach Massimiliano Allegri as well as the chief executive, sporting director and technical director.
According to reports, Allegri's successor on the bench could be Austrian Oliver Glasner, who just won the Conference League with Crystal Palace.
