Kota Kinabalu: Lions Clubs International continued its humanitarian mission by contributing cleaning detergent supplies worth about RM18,000 to flood victims in Sabah.
The contribution was made through District 308-A2, led by Second Vice District Governor, Alyssa Lim.
The aid, fully sponsored by FFM Berhad, benefited more that 300 households and six schools in Sepanggar, Papar and Penampang, which were among the hardest hit.
Cleaning supplies were prioritised as victims needed to restore homes, schools and public facilities once the waters receded.
Alyssa said that basic necessities such as cleaning detergents play a vital role in post-flood recovery.
Meanwhile, representatives from recipient schools conveyed their gratitude for the attention given.
They described the contribution as especially meaningful in ensuring a clean and safe environment for students to return to.
Residents who received the aid also voiced relief, noting that cleaning supplies are among the most urgent needs after a flood.
They welcomed the initiative by Lions Clubs International, which has consistently reached out to assist communities in times of difficulty.
Through such efforts, Lions Clubs International continues to strengthen its role as a globally recognised community service organisation committed to welfare, health, and sustainable community development worldwide.
