LAHAD DATU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested a retired civil servant and a civil servant in connection with a criminal breach of trust involving RM303,000.  According to sources, the two, a woman and a man aged between 40 and 60, were detained around 12pm at the Lahad Datu MACC office when they went there to give statements.

They allegedly committed the act between July 2020 and February 2021 while serving in a government agency.  Preliminary investigation showed they allegedly misused property, namely payment vouchers to foreign workers totalling RM303,000, even though the foreign workers did not receive the payment.

Sabah MACC Director Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah, when contacted, confirmed the arrests and said investigation is ongoing under Section 409 of the Penal Code.
