Roads closed for Earth Day run in Manila

THE Manila Police District (MPD) on Saturday announced that several roads in Manila will be closed early Sunday for the Earth Day run.

In a Facebook post, the MPD said the temporary road closures will start at 1 a.m.

Affected roads include Roxas Boulevard (from Quirino and Ocampo avenues to Katigbak Drive), Bonifacio Drive (from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive), P. Burgos Avenue (from Roxas Boulevard to Jones Bridge), Finance Road and Ma. Orosa Street, Muralla and Sta. Lucia streets in Intramuros, A. Soriano Avenue (eastbound section), Jones Bridge, Magallanes Drive near the Post Office and Bureau of Immigration, and the westbound lanes of Kalaw and Quirino avenues.

Motorists were advised to take alternate routes, particularly via Taft Avenue, which will serve as a primary diversion road.

Vehicles from Quezon and MacArthur bridges heading southbound to Roxas Boulevard should pass through P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue.

Those coming from Kalaw Avenue may turn to M.H. del Pilar instead of Roxas Boulevard. Motorists from Maria Orosa and A. Mabini streets will be rerouted through Kalaw Avenue toward Taft Avenue. Those from Bonifacio Drive are advised to turn around at Anda Circle.
