MANILA, Philippines — Rain or Shine survived Marcio Lassiter’s three-point shooting spree in the fourth quarter to hammer out a pulse-pounding 116-112 win to remain spotless in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Lassiter, the league’s all-time three-point shooting leader, erupted for 17 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from beyond the arc to lead the Beermen’s furious fightback.

The 38-year-old Lassiter’s fifth triple in the period pushed SMB to within 112-116 with 1:07 to go.

Both squads though failed to score the rest of the way, with Don Trollano and import Justin Patton each missing their four-point attempts in an effort to send the game into overtime.

ROS stays perfect in the tournament with its 5-0 record.

San Miguel saw its three-game winning come to an end, dropping to an even 3-3.

Jaylen Johnson led ROS with 24 points, Adrian Nocum 21, while Jhonard Clarito had a superb all-around game of 16 markers, eight rebounds and five assists.

Frank Lemetti and Caelan Tiongson also logged in 14 and 11, respectively in a balanced scoring attack for Rain or Shine.

Lassiter finished with 27 points to lead the Beermen, CJ Perez 18, June Mar Fajardo had 17 and 13 boards.

Trollano scored 14, while Patton only had 12, but managed to grab 17 rebounds despite playing through foul trouble.

Rain or Shine tool advantage of SMB’s 20 turnovers by translating it to 29 points.

Yeng Guiao’s charges also had more assists, 34-20, along with a 44-34 advantage in bench points.
