
SHAH ALAM – The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and his wife Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz today announced the birth of their first child, Tengku Alia Amira Tengku Amir Shah.
The joyous announcement was made on the official Instagram account of the Raja Muda Selangor on Saturday.
According to the post, Tengku Alia Amira was born at 2.56pm on July 21, corresponding to 6 Safar 1448H.
"With great joy, we introduce YM Tengku Alia Amira binti Tengku Amir Shah," the announcement read, accompanied by a prayer asking Allah SWT to bless the newborn with "mercy, love and protection."
In a caption written by the Crown Prince, Tengku Amir Shah expressed gratitude for the safe arrival of his daughter.
"With full gratitude to Allah SWT, I announce the birth of our daughter.
"May Allah SWT bless her with good health, lasting blessings and mercy.
"Thank you to everyone who has kept our family in your prayers," he wrote.
Tengku Amir Shah and Afzaa Fadini were married in a Royal Wedding Ceremony held at the Royal Mosque within Istana Alam Shah, Klang, on Oct 2 last year.
The solemnisation ceremony was officiated by Selangor Mufti Datuk Dr Anhar Opir in a private royal ceremony witnessed by Tengku Panglima Raja Selangor Tengku Ahmad Shah Alhaj and Tengku Indera Pahlawan Diraja Tengku Datuk Setia Putra Alhaj.
The royal wedding was later followed by a series of traditional palace ceremonies, drawing well-wishes from across the country.
Tengku Amir Shah, the eldest son of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, was proclaimed Raja Muda Selangor in 2016. Besides carrying out royal duties, he is widely recognised for championing youth development, education, environmental sustainability and sports initiatives through various foundations and programmes.
His wife, Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini, is known for her involvement in community and charitable initiatives and has accompanied the Crown Prince at numerous official engagements since their marriage.
The birth of Tengku Alia Amira marks a new chapter for the Selangor royal family and comes less than a year after the couple's royal wedding, with well-wishers continuing to flood social media with prayers and congratulations for the young family.
