Thieves broke into a temple at Shikohpur village in Sector 78 and fled after stealing over Rs 70,000 from the donation box. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the temple.
According to the police, the incident took place late last night at the Johar Wala temple in the village. On Wednesday morning, when the temple management and attendants arrived, they found the donation box broken and items scattered on the temple premises. They immediately informed the police and cops reached the spot.
The police team found that the CCTV footage showed the thieves entering the temple premises and breaking the donation box with a cutter.
An FIR was registered and cops began investigating the matter.
