A mini-marathon was organised here today to create awareness against drug abuse, marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as well as Drug Prevention Week.

Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore administered a pledge to all participants, urging them to stand firmly against drug abuse. Superintendent of Police Balbir Thakur also addressed the gathering and encouraged participants to stay away from drugs. Winners of the event were felicitated with cash prizes at the conclusion of the marathon.

In the girls’ Under-16 category, Kamini from Government High School, Chauki Jamwalan, secured first place, Priyanshi Vashisht of Him Academy School came second, and Dhaneshwari of Government High School, Chauki Jamwalan, finished third.

In the boys’ Under-16 category, Rakul of Him Academy secured first position, Pankaj Kharyal of Senior Secondary School, Hamirpur, stood second, and Arpit of Silver Bells School came third.

In the above-16 girls’ category, Rashi of Government Degree College secured first place, Suhani of the same college finished second, and Shivali of Government School, Dhalot, stood third. In the men’s category, Aryan from Rohru secured first position, Aditya from Pattiyan village came second, and Naveen from Kakru village finished third.
