Run Kings set in June

CONSOLACION, Cebu — A running event aimed at bringing road races closer to northern Cebu is returning next month as organizers officially launched the fourth edition of Run Kings.

During a press conference at SM Consolacion on May 16, the run dubbed Run Kings 4 is scheduled on June 28, 2026, at SM Consolacion, featuring 3-kilometer, 5-kilometer, and 10-kilometer race categories.

Organizers said the event seeks to make organized running events more accessible to participants outside Cebu City, where fun runs are more frequently held.

Event manager John Velez said the group wants to help expand the running community in northern Cebu rather than compete with other race organizers.

“It’s not all the time that fun runs are hosted here, unlike in Cebu City, where running events are held almost weekly,” Velez said during the press conference.

“Let me clarify that we are not here to compete with other race organizations. As a matter of fact, we will be very happy if there will be more running events in far areas of Cebu, regardless of who the organizer is, because we want to see the sport grow even more,” he added.

Event organizer Ian Callet said the team remains focused on organizing quality sporting events and improving participant experience.

“We meticulously plan everything before we execute anything. We do our best to give the participants a great experience,” Callet said.

“This does not only apply to Run Kings, but also to the other sporting events we organize,” he added.

Callet said the race route will feature both challenging and scenic sections, while registration fees were kept at what organizers described as affordable rates.

Registration costs P600 for the 3K category, P700 for 5K, and P800 for 10K.

The registration package includes an event singlet, drawstring bag, cap, and finisher’s medal.

Organizers said the first 100 registrants will also receive towels.

Cash prizes will also be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each category.

Registration remains open online through the event’s Facebook page and onsite at the CSAS Consolacion branch.
