Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 1.0 Development Plan has achieved 94 per cent of its implementation targets in 2024, showcasing the State Government’s strong commitment to balanced development across the state.
SMJ Secretariat Chief Coordinator Datuk Rosmadi Sulai said the achievement proves the State Government is on the right path, especially in the area of human capital development.
“Whatever we aim to achieve depends on knowledgeable and well-guided human resources. That’s why human capital development remains a key focus for balanced progress in Sabah,” he said after a courtesy visit to Head of State Tun Musa Aman, Monday.
The visit aimed to present the 2024 SMJ 1.0 achievement report and seek Tun Musa’s advice to maintain development momentum as the state prepares to transition into SMJ 2.0.
According to the report, the State Government spent RM848.26 million from 2021 to 2024 on all Sabah Government scholarships.
For 2025, the Sabah State Budget has allocated an additional RM485 million for human capital development initiatives, bringing the total to RM1.33 billion during the SMJ 1.0 period.
The SMJ Secretariat was set up on Oct 5, 2020, under the Sabah State Public Service Department. The SMJ 1.0 Development Plan (2021–2025) was officially launched by the Chief Minister on March 29, 2021.
