
TUARAN: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced enhanced initiatives to support the hardcore poor in the state.
Key programs include RM300 monthly aid for 100,000 recipients for a year and the construction of 3,000 Rumah Mesra SMJ units. Employment programs for heads of hardcore poor households will also continue.
"This housing assistance program includes an initiative to provide employment for heads of hardcore poor households, which began two years ago," he said at the 2025 State-Level Madani Iftar event here on Saturday.
The state government is also providing RM600 flight subsidies for Sabah students in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and Labuan to return home for festive seasons, while local IPT students receive RM300.
Scholarship allocations have also increased from RM50 million to RM128 million.
Hajiji praised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership, highlighting Malaysia’s strong economic growth, rising foreign investments, and its selection as ASEAN Chair for 2025.
