Kota Kinabalu: Sabah continues to strengthen its international ties and cooperation with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor receiving a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Malaysia, Osamah Dakhei R Al Ahmadi, at Menara Kinabalu on Thursday.
The meeting was Osamah's first official engagement with Hajiji since assuming his ambassadorial post in Malaysia earlier this year.
Both sides exchanged views on enhancing existing relations and exploring potential new areas of collaboration to support Sabah's socio-economic development.
The diplomatic engagement followed a similar courtesy call paid by Finland's Ambassador to Malaysia, Anne Vasara, to Hajiji at Menara Kinabalu on Wednesday.
Discussions during the Finland visit focused on bilateral cooperation in sustainable development, technology, innovation, and the green economy to attract quality investments to the State.
State government senior officials had previously conducted a study visit to Helsinki to explore Finnish expertise in circular economy models, sustainability, and technological innovation.
