Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FA edged TOT United 3-2 in the Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL) Division 1 tie held for the first time at Dewan Sri Putatan on Sunday.

They took an early two-goal lead in the first half through import player Vitor Da Silva in the 6th minute before he added another in the 13th minute.

The visitors were able to reduce the deficit four minutes into the second half with a free kick converted by Mulhim Muqri.

Despite the desperate attempts by TOT United to find the equaliser, Sabah FA were able to stand firm to collect the maximum points.

The victory was Sabah FA’s third in eight matches played. They are currently in fourth place with 10 points.

Their next match is at home against fifth place KL City FC on May 31 at Dewan Sri Putatan.

Meanwhile, Sabah Football Association (Safa) president Datuk Shahelmey Yahya accompanied by Safa Futsal and Beach Football committee chairman Muhd Rafiuddin Gulistan was present to watch the match.
