KOTA KINABALU: Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan welcomed the State Government’s decision to cancel the state-level Malaysia Day celebration following the recent floods in Sabah.
“This decision is a responsible step because in times of hardship like this, our main focus must be to safeguard lives, ensure community wellbeing and assist the victims,” he said.
He urged the people of Sabah to remain united, help one another and fully support the authorities and rescue teams.
“Malaysia Day is a symbol of unity, so let us show solidarity with the disaster victims not just through prayers and words of encouragement, but with real actions that ease their burden,” he added.
