
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah weightlifters won two golds, two silvers and one bronze in the National Weightlifting Championship held in Rompin, Pahang which concluded on Wednesday.
The two gold medal winners were Kevdylan Wong coached by Nicholas Wong from the Kinarut training centre in the senior’s 67kg and Malaysia Sabah Sports School’s Muhammmad Alianfiah coached by Arico Jumiti in the youth’s 96kg.
The silver medals came from Rodenzell Islin Duhaimin @ Robert in the youth’s 73kg and Sharon Jastine Silas in the junior’s 67kg, while the bronze was delivered by Dawson Vennder Daimo in the youth’s 61kg.
Sabah were represented by a six-member team led by team manager Lawrence Bell with coach Aricco, Rudy Taimpin as technical official, and only Harry Belugun Lamen competing in the junior’s 81kg missed out on a podium finish.
