PARTI Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang) has denied that it will contest in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election, stating that no mandate or endorsement has been given to any individual to represent the party in the polls.

In a media statement released by Pejuang Information Chief Rafique Rashid, the party said its central leadership council  has not authorised any candidate to use Pejuang’s name, logo or ticket for PRN Sabah.

Pejuang President Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, has never issued any watikah pencalonan (candidate authorisation letter) for the Sabah polls.

The party also expressed concern after an individual contesting the N.25 Kapayan seat was publicly announced as a Pejuang candidate, with campaign visuals displaying the party’s logo.

Pejuang called the move misleading, urging the Election Commission (EC) to take action immediately.

According to the statement, Pejuang’s representatives in Sabah have been instructed to lodge a police report over the unauthorised use of the party’s logo.

“Pejuang once again emphasizes that it is not participating in PRN Sabah 2025,” Rafique said.

Pejuang to Support PN Candidates in 41 Seats

Although not fielding its own candidates, Pejuang confirmed that it has agreed to support and assist Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates in the 41 constituencies contested by the coalition.

“President Mukhriz will be in Sabah from Nov 21 to 23, accompanied by Pejuang leaders from Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah,” the statement read.

His visit aims to strengthen the campaign machinery and help PN secure victory in targeted seats. – November 16, 2025
