Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will have 24 representatives in the 100 Plus Junior Elite Tour Badminton Finals to be held at Juara Stadium, Bukit Kiara starting today (Tuesday).
Sabah Badminton Association president Janih Bangud, who said their boys and girls will be taking part in the Under-12, 14 and 16 categories during the six-day competition, is confident they will do well.
“I am very confident with the physical and mental preparation they had, and the support from the coaches and parents, they will be able to improve further in the finals,” he said on Monday. The State junior shuttlers did well in the opening legs in Group C by finishing second overall in the first leg held in May and topped the table standing a month later in June.
Meanwhile, Janih expressed his gratitude to Sabah Sports Council and its officer Azril Fakhree Khainih as well as sponsors Flypower, WKW Eramaju Sdn Bhd for their support to the team.
