Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has urged investors and business leaders attending the Sabah International Expo 2026 (SIE2026) to explore opportunities in Sabah’s Blue Economy.
He said opportunities included sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, marine biotechnology, maritime services, tourism, marine renewable energy, logistics, shipbuilding and repair.
“With the right investments, technologies and partnerships, Sabah can develop a more dynamic and sustainable Blue Economy, creating new industries, generating employment and opening up new sources of income for our communities,” he said.
His speech at the State Government’s SIE2026 Welcome Dinner at the Sabah International Convention Centre here Thursday night was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister II and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
Hajiji said Sabah’s strategic location and links to Asean markets also positioned the State to strengthen regional trade and investment and develop as a regional business hub.
