
The Centre has approved a budget of Rs 720 crore for Samagra Shiksha, Himachal Pradesh, for 2026-27 at the Project Approval Board meeting in New Delhi today. The Centre has fixed the upper limit of the budget at Rs 746 crore for Samagra Shiksha, Himachal, for the current financial year. Last year, the upper limit of the budget was fixed at Rs 754 crore.
“We spent 100 per cent budget last year, achieving all our targets. On the basis of our performance, I sought a higher outlay in the meeting. We have been told our demand will be considered in the supplementary budget,” said Rajesh Sharma, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha. The Samagra Shiksha budget is largely spent on strengthening of infrastructure, vocational education, pre-primary education, etc.
